Buenos Aire Photo INGLÉS
From the 8th of September until the 10th of September Espacio El Dorado participated, with projects by artists Jorge Ortiz and Antonio Castles, in BAphoto, Latin America’s most important specialized photography fair.
Jorge Ortiz’s work, active since 1971 to this day, is considered one of the most relevant of the Colombian art scene. He presented three projects: Cables and Boquerón are two of the most significant photographic series of his career, made right before beginning a period of image production from experimentation with photographic chemicals like his series Paisaje (Landscape), one of his most recent works.
In parallel, we presented works by Antonio Castles Gómez, a Colombian artist who graduated from the Universidad de los Andes with a BA in Fine Art, . The series Sin igual y siempre igual and Ruido 16:9 are two projects produced in 2014, which question the time and context in which they are developed.
In conjunction, Ortiz and Castles’ work relate resonate to one another. They confront similar photographic intentions, proposed in two different contextual moments.
