The pieces of María Leguízamo y Julieth Morales intertwine under the concept of «resistance», either political, or upon established fees and other control organisms. In one hand, María resists the institution that tells us what to say or what is appropriate or correct, and proposes, to the Colombian academy of language, the word impoder (impower). Impoder as the force of those weak or inoffensive things that, however, have the power to transform things within. This concept allows her to criticize a language that many times is used as a weapon or a political defense mechanism. On the other hand, Julieth Morales notices the resistances that appear today when the misak people collide with the western world. Julieth evidences and works on the role women have in their cultures, Western registration media, and the expectations people usually have about her work. Tradition and whats foreign, memory, new knowledge, whats intimate and personal, and whats communal, all blend together in her artwork.
