Retroperspective Vision
Jorge Ortíz Anexo (2015 - 2016)
From 12th of December 2015 until 24th of January 2016, the work of Jorge Ortiz was on show in what is now called the Annex. The exhibition, Retrospective Vision, was curated by Halim Badawi.
Ortiz was one of the first Colombian photographers to experiment freely with light, looking at a traditional concern within art history and creating a rupture through photography that is more anthropological in nature. Jorge Ortiz reappears from the shadows of art history and begins to map out the cutting-edge practices which have led to the radical transformation of collective awareness in Latin America over the last three decades. He explores and observes the city with amazement, like a foreigner pointing out the mundane, the invisible and the futile.
