Luz Adriana Vera INGLÉS
Luz Adriana Vera
(1992) Her exhibition at Espacio El Dorado "Through the Eye of a Needle"
She graduated with a BA in Fine Art in the University of Pamplona and is currently studying a BA in philosophy. Her work is a the result of deliberations on the experience of the construct of gender, and seeks to disrupt its essentialist conceptualization that is rampant in her religious context.
Vera works through photoperformance, videoperformance, and installation. Her diverse actions allude to the violence of the embodied experience of the gender, the societal limits that the religious dogma imposes on the body. Her methodology follows the tradition of feminist artists that reclaim traditional women’s work and craft, such as sewing, and elevates them to an artistic context.
